The Changing Climate: Technologies, Challenges, and Opportunities

A scientific aperitif to explore how research and innovation help us navigate the challenges of climate change.

Climate is everywhere these days: on the news, on social media, in everyday conversations. Extreme events, record-breaking temperatures, rapidly evolving scenarios. Amid this constant flow of information, a central question remains: how much do we really understand what’s happening? And how can we navigate these increasingly complex changes?

On Tuesday 2 December, at the MUSE – Science Museum in Trento, HIT is organising a scientific aperitif, open to everyone, to talk about climate through a different lens: that of technology and innovation .

An opportunity to understand how advanced digital tools, sensors, predictive models and new technological solutions can help us read what is happening and better understand the evolution of ongoing phenomena.

The event will open with a reflection on the phenomenon from a historical and social perspective, to demonstrate how climate change is not merely a scientific issue, but a process that has influenced—and continues to influence—our culture, the collective perception of risk, and our way of living and interacting with the environment.

This will be followed by a dynamic discussion with researchers, industry professionals, and business representatives. This interactive opportunity will explore how research and technology enable us to observe atmospheric phenomena, interpret them in real time, and support prevention and emergency management policies.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Trento , as part of the Smart Specialisation Strategy 2021–2027 .

Participation is free but registration is required
