Rather than having hard or militarized borders with the aim of preventing people from crossing national boundaries\, people should generally be allowed to travel\, live and work anywhere. The topic is hotly contested and politicized. Proponents think freedom of movement is a human right and that the economic benefits outweigh costs. Opponents believe Open Borders will lead to economic ruin and cultural collapse. \nThis one-evening event collaboration between Trentointernational.com and Birrette Esistenzialiste uses breakout groups to discuss and dissect Open Borders\, bridging the gap between abstract ideas and practical implications. There will be three themed discussion groups covering the philosophical\, economic and social implications of Open Borders. You will have time to pick two of the three groups. We will provide prompts for the discussion\, but you are free to share your thoughts. This event will mainly be held in English\, though we welcome Italian speakers who are not comfortable in English to speak in Italian. The event is completely free of charge.
