Outside of the catalogue – publishing monopolies in Italy

On the 13th of January in Trento, at “Booquike”, “Out of Catalogue-publishing without asking for permission” will be held, a small traveling literary review in which we will address what we have called “publishing question”.
In Italy, most of the publishing distribution is substantially controlled by a monopoly that works on the work of the book series but above all conditions the production of books in a decisive way. Approached to a big publishing house that only aims at the blindest and fastest profit, and in fact that they make paid publishing houses, this phenomenon produces cultural impoverishment, overproduction, exploitation of the environment and workers.
We will speak about all this in detail and openly, telling how over the last seven years the Rebel Chronicles has represented a radical and concrete alternative to the ruling system.
